The capital of UAE is now ready to welcome tourists from December 24, 2020
Abu Dhabi’s media office said, “Following the successes achieved by implementing the precautionary measures to curb the spread of Covid-19, and maintaining a low rate of confirmed cases, Abu Dhabi will welcome back international tourists from 24 December 2020.”
Rules have been outlined for before departure, upon arrival and after entering Abu Dhabi by the Department of Culture and Tourism.
International travellers, both residents and tourists, have to undergo a quarantine period of 10 days only and the travellers from “green” countries are exempted from quarantine.
All travellers will have to take a PCR test on day 6 if they are staying for 6 or more consecutive days and if they are staying for 12 or more consecutive days, then they will need to take the test on day 12.
Travel across India, Kuwait, Oman, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and the UK are currently impacted by the new travel guidelines.
COVID-19 PCR test is mandatory before every Etihad flight. The test must be done between 48, 72 or 96 hours ahead of your flight departure time. When the test should be carried out will depend on where you are flying to or from.
Travellers with severe and moderate disabilities and children under 12 are exempted from COVID-19 PCR testing, though it will be subjected to the regulations of the place they are travelling to.
PCR test requirement is mandatory for all the passengers travelling from Abu Dhabi and transit Abu Dhabi.
