The group is making both the Pfizer-BioNTech and Sinopharm vaccines, which have been approved by the UAE health authorities, conveniently accessible to its employees at various company locations across the UAE.

The vaccination programme is part of UAE’s target to vaccinate over 50% of its population by the end of March. Priority is being given to frontline aviation employees, including cabin crew, flight deck, and “other operationally focused roles”.

The airline, along with dnata, are among the first transport and air services organisations in the world to offer employees the option to get vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus.

The Dubai-based airline said that the vaccination appointments will run 12 hours a day, 7 days a week to ensure as many essential aviation workers as possible can get the vaccine. Employees also have the choice to receive the vaccination at government designated medical centres and clinics.

Emirates has gradually been rebuilding its network since the onset of Covid-19, and currently serves 114 destinations across 6 continents, with flights to Seattle, Dallas and San Francisco set to resume in the coming months.
