Qatar Airways announces resumption of flights to Phuket as the holiday destination reopens for tourism

Qatar Airways has announced plans to resume flights to Phuket, Thailand. The decision comes just after the popular holiday destination announced that it will accept international travellers from July.

Phuket resumption

Starting 1st July 2021, Qatar Airways will fly to Phuket, Thailand 4-times-a-week. This is the same date on which international travellers will be allowed to visit Phuket. The flight schedule is:

  • Doha-Phuket
  • Departure time: 02:55
  • Arrival time: 13:30
  • Flight time: 6 hours and 35 minutes
  • Flight number: QR840
  • Frequency: Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays
  • Phuket-Doha
  • Departure time: 02:30
  • Arrival time: 05:30
  • Flight time: 7 hours
  • Flight number: QR841
  • Frequency: Mondays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays

The Doha-based airline will deploy a Boeing B787-8 Dreamliner featuring 22 business class seats and 232 economy class seats. Launched in 2010, Phuket became Qatar Airways’ 93rd destination at the time. The resort destination is a magnet for holidaymakers, particularly from Europe, the Middle East and United States.

In addition to its 12 weekly Bangkok flights, the airline will operate a total of 16 weekly flights to Thailand. As Thailand reopens to holidaymakers from around the world, fully vaccinated travellers will soon be able to visit the Asian country once again.

Qatar Airways recently announced that it will increase frequency of flights to Maldives, resume flying to Málaga and launch a new route to Abidjan. The carrier also proudly announced that is is now serving more US destinations than it did before pandemic.

Meanwhile, KLM also announced the resumption of flights to Phuket.
