Emirates to boost flights to France with resumption of services to Nice and Lyon

After announcing resumption of flights to Phuket and Milan, Emirates has announced that it will restart its flights from Dubai to Nice and Lyon. The decision comes as France is all set to welcome international travellers once again from tomorrow (9th June 2021).

Nice

Starting 2nd July 2021, Emirates will resume flying between Dubai International Airport and Nice Côte d’Azur Airport. The airline will initially offer flights 4-times-a-week. The schedule is:

  • Dubai-Nice
  • Departure time: 08:45
  • Arrival time: 13:40
  • Flight time: 6 hours and 55 minutes
  • Flight number: EK77
  • Frequency: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays
  • Nice-Dubai
  • Departure time: 15:55
  • Arrival time: 00:10 (the next day)
  • Flight time: 6 hours and 15 minutes
  • Flight number: EK78
  • Frequency: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays

Lyon

Starting 9th July 2021, the Dubai-based carrier will restart flights between Dubai International Airport and Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport. Like Nice, the carrier will initial operate flights to the French city 4-times-a-week. The schedule is:

  • Dubai-Lyon
  • Departure time: 14:35
  • Arrival time: 19:30
  • Flight time: 6 hours and 55 minutes
  • Flight number: EK81
  • Frequency: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays
  • Lyon-Dubai
  • Departure time: 21:45
  • Arrival time: 06:05 (the next day)
  • Flight time: 6 hours and 20 minutes
  • Flight number: EK82
  • Frequency: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays

Flights to both the cities in France will be operated by a Boeing B777-300ER.

France opening to international travellers tomorrow

France is once again opening to international travellers from tomorrow (9th June 2021). Travellers from the United Arab Emirates will be eligible for quarantine-free entry into France if they have completed the two week period after taking both doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech or AstraZeneca vaccine. Additionally, fully vaccinated travellers will still need to present a negative RT-PCR test report conducted no more than 72 hours prior to departure, or a Rapid Antigen test result no more than 48 hours old.

Emirates currently operates 14 weekly flights to Paris, flying with its newest Airbus A380s, featuring its latest premium economy product and refreshed products across every cabin.

Delta too has announced additional flights to France. Meanwhile, Emirates has announced a new route to Miami, resumed A380 service to New York JFK and has scheduled the A380 on 1 hour flights to Bahrain. It has also extended its ban on flights to India until the end of June.
