Emirates to restart its flights to Malta via Larnaca

Dubai-based Emirates has announced that it will resume its flights to Malta via Larnaca.

Starting 14th July 2021, Emirates will restart its flights to Malta via Larnaca, Cyprus, further expanding its European network to 34 destinations. The flight schedule is:

• Flight time: 4 hours and 10 minutes

• Frequency: Wednesdays, Fridays And Sundays

• Larnaca-Malta
• Departure time: 12:10
• Arrival time: 14:05
• Flight time: 2 hours and 45 minutes
• Flight number: EK109
• Frequency: Wednesdays, Fridays And Sundays

• Malta-Larnaca
• Departure time: 15:35
• Arrival time: 19:00
• Flight time: 2 hours and 25 minutes
• Flight number: EK110
• Frequency: Wednesdays, Fridays And Sundays

• Larnaca-Dubai
• Departure time: 20:10
• Arrival time: 01:05 (the next day)
• Flight time: 3 hours and 55 minutes
• Flight number: EK110
• Frequency: Wednesdays, Fridays And Sundays

As the Middle Eastern airline doesn’t have fifth freedom rights, passengers cannot fly solely between the two islands. As such, all passengers must start or end their journey in Dubai.

The flights will be operated by a Boeing B777-300ER, featuring 42 lie-flag business class seats and 386 standard economy class seats.

Malta is now officially welcoming tourists from the United Arab Emirates. Passengers will not have to quarantine upon arriving at the Maltese islands. Effective 2nd June 2021, passengers travelling on Emirates to Malta, who are 5 years old or above, are required to present a negative RT-PCR test on arrival in Malta that should be conducted no more than 72 hours before arrival.

Passengers must also present a completed Passenger Locator Form (PLF) and a negative COVID-19 PCR test certificate at check-in to be accepted for travel to Malta. Fully vaccinated Maltese nationals or Malta residency permit holders may present a Maltese vaccination certificate instead of a negative COVID-19 PCR test certificate when returning to Malta.

As part of the Incentives for Free Independent Travellers (Fit) Scheme launched by the Malta Tourism Authority to boost tourism, Emirates passengers visiting the Maltese Islands for a minimum of three nights can also enjoy discounted rates offered by local hotels in Malta and earn up to EUR200 credit when booking directly when booking directly through them. Meanwhile, Emirates has announced a new route to Miami, resumed A380 service to New York JFK and has scheduled the A380 on 1 hour flights to Bahrain. It has also extended its ban on flights to India until the end of June. The airline will also resume flying to Nice and Lyon in France as the country is now open for international travellers.
