Indigo resumes flights to Thailand

Indian low cost carrier Indigo has announced the resumption of flights to Bangkok and Phuket in Thailand.

Indigo has restarted flights between Delhi and Bangkok & between Kolkata and Bangkok. From Delhi, it is operating 4-flights-a-week while from Kolkata, it has a daily service. From 1st April 2022, it will operate 4-flights-a-week between Bengaluru and Bangkok while from 2nd April 2022, the airline will operate a 3-weekly service between Mumbai and Bangkok & between Chennai and Bangkok.

In addition, the low cost carrier will operate daily flight between Delhi and Phuket & 4-flights-a-week Mumbai and Phuket starting 1st April 2022.

William Boulter, Chief Commercial Officer, Indigo, said:

We are pleased to resume operations between India and Thailand with flights to Bangkok and Phuket as per the guidelines issued by the ministry of civil aviation. Thailand is one of the favourite tourist destinations for Indians and the resumption of services will surely bring cheer and affordable flying options for those planning summer travel to international destinations. These flights will not only bring down airfares on these routes but also promote trade tourism and mobility, giving a fillip to economic recovery in both the countries.

The airline is resuming flights to Thailand after nearly 2 years for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic began. The Asian country reopened its borders to fully vaccinated international travellers from every country on 1st February 2022.

The airline will operate these flights under air bubble agreement till 26th March 2022, and thereafter as part of its scheduled commercial international operations.

These flights will be operated by Airbus A320 family aircraft.

According to the latest entry requirements for Thailand, passengers will need a negative RT-PCR lab result before arrival and 2 more RT-PCR tests after landing – one upon entry and another on their fifth day in Thailand. Passengers from India will not need to quarantine upon arrival in Thailand.

Meanwhile, Indigo recently announced the addition of Pantnagar, Uttarakhand as its 72nd domestic destination.
