All of these flights will be operated by Vistara’s Airbus A320 aircraft. While Mumbai and Delhi flights will be operated by 3-class configured aircraft featuring Business Class, Premium Economy Class and Economy Class, Bengaluru flights will be operated by all-Economy Class A320s.
Coimbatore is Vistara’s 31st domestic destination. The airline also operates to 9 international destinations.
Taking the Indigo approach
Vistara has taken an Indigo approach for launch of flights from Coimbatore. Indigo has a habit of launching a station with flights to multiple cities to give the best possible connecting itinerary for connecting passengers and also to offer flights in every direction of the country.
Vistara has also taken a similar approach here with Coimbatore with flights from Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru. It seems that Vistara is not seeing demand for premium seats and that’s why it will operate an all-Economy Class aircraft to Coimbatore.
One interesting thing to note here is that Vistara will not operate any flights between Chennai and Coimbatore. Chennai is the largest market for Coimbatore. The Chennai-Coimbatore market is dominated by Indigo with multiple daily flights.
As such, Vistara is attacking a Indigo-dominated fort. Indigo is the largest carrier at Coimbatore with flights to Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Pune and Hyderabad. Air India operates a daily flight to Chennai from Coimbatore and GoFirst operates a daily flight to Mumbai.
It remains to be seen whether Vistara will be able to successfully attack the Indigo-dominated fort or will it have to hold back.
Meanwhile, Vistara recently launched flights between Bengaluru and Guwahati.

To Mumbai & Delhi it is the standard 3 class A320
Hello,
I apologise for the error. The error has now been corrected and the article has been updated with the correct information.
Thanks 🙂
What about Trichy and Madurai Airports. Since Air India is taken over by TATA, perhaps, Air Vistara might start services to these cities too. And from Trichy to South East Asia barring damit worst Chennai Airport in India !!! Trich Airport is going soon to be handover to Pvt players, it might get chance and new airport is coming this year end !!!
