Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, will launch seasonal flights to Greek Islands of Santorini and Mykonos and the famous southern Spanish city of Malaga in Andalusia.
Greece expansion
Between 9th July 2021 and 12th September 2021, Etihad will fly twice-a-week between Abu Dhabi International Airport and Santorini Airport. The flight schedule is:
- Abu Dhabi-Santorini
- Departure time: 10:50
- Arrival time: 14:35
- Flight time: 4 hours and 45 minutes

- Frequency: Fridays and Sundays
The return flight will make a stop at Athens International Airport before proceeding to Abu Dhabi.

The Abu-Dhabi based airline will operate flights between Abu Dhabi International Airport and Mykonos International Airport from 8th July 2021 and 11th September 2021. The schedule is:

- Flight time: 4 hours and 50 minutes

As is the case with Santorini, the return flight from Mykonos will make a stop at Athens International Airport before continuing onto Abu Dhabi.

Flights to both the Greek destinations will be operated by a Airbus A320. Just over four hours from Abu Dhabi, Etihad’s new flights to the Greek islands complement the airline’s existing service to Athens.
With a safe travel corridor established between the UAE and Greece, fully vaccinated travellers from both the countries have been allowed to travel to the other starting from 18th May, and passengers who hold vaccination certificates issued by their respective health authorities do not need to quarantine upon arriving at the destination country.
flydubai also recently announced flights to Santorini and Mykonos in Greece.
Málaga
After Qatar Airways announced the resumption of services to Málaga, now Etihad Airways has made an announcement regarding the same. The airline will fly twice-a-week to Málaga between 9th July 2021 and 15th September 2021.
IH Aviation And Travel had earlier reported that Etihad is planning to resume flights to Rabat on 23rd June. Starting 9th July 2021, Rabat flights will then continue to Málaga. The schedule is:

Flights to Málaga will be operated by Etihad’s Boeing B787-9.
Spain has once again reopened to international travellers. The new service will provide greater choice and convenience for leisure travellers between the UAE and Spain, with Etihad now serving three destinations between the two countries – Barcelona, Madrid and Malaga.
Meanwhile, Etihad Airways recently announced ‘Verified to Fly’ service. Additionally, passengers departing from Abu Dhabi can take advantage of ‘Home Check-in’ to avoid airport queues. The airline has also been trialling IATA Travel Pass on flights to North America.
