Radisson to open its 16th hotel in South Africa in the town of Middelburg

Radisson Hotel Group has announced plans to open its 16th hotel in South Africa in the town of Middelburg.

Radisson Hotel Middelburg is expected to open in 2023 in Middelburg in the Mpumalanga Province, a town with a large mining and manufacturing industry.

The new-build hotel will be located just off the N4, one of South Africa’s national roads, with access to larger cities such as Pretoria and Johannesburg. It will also be within walking distance of the Middelburg Mall, 90 minutes from Johannesburg OR Tambo International airport, and just over two hours from Kruger Mpumalanga International airport in Nelspruit.

Radisson Hotel Middelburg will have 150 guest rooms, a fitness facility, swimming pool and pool terrace, as well as a restaurant and bar, lobby lounge and pool bar. 2300 square meters of meetings and events space, which includes eight meeting rooms and boardrooms, will also be available at the hotel. A large convention centre adjacent to the hotel is also currently under construction and is slated to open at the same time as the property.

Radisson Hotel Middelburg will certainly assist in uplifting the town and support its drive to boost tourism as it is the only internationally branded hotel.

The new opening will help the hospitality group reach its aim for 150 hotels in operation and under development across Africa within the next five years. The group recently opened its second Radisson Red Hotel in Africa, located in Johannesburg’s Rosebank district.
