Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced the opening of the eighth Staybridge Suites hotel in the UK (first in Wales) on Cardiff Bay’s Atlantic Wharf in partnership with First Inn Group.
Located between Cardiff Bay and the city centre, Staybridge Suites Cardiff is a mile from Cardiff Central Cardiff Railway, a 10-minute walk from Cardiff Bay Station and a 30-minute drive from Cardiff International Airport. There are many bars and restaurants nearby in Mermaid Quay, and Wales Millennium Centre is just around the corner – where the Welsh National Opera performs and a spot for many concerts and shows.
Cardiff is renowned for its sporting venues and Staybridge Suites Cardiff is perfectly situated near the Glamorgan Cricket Ground, Cardiff City Stadium, and the iconic Principality Stadium, home to the Wales National Rugby Team.
IHG states that the Staybridge Suites brand is designed to meet the needs of extended-stay travellers looking for a break from the travel norm and Staybridge Suites Cardiff delivers just that.
Opened in a prime position on the East Dock at Atlantic Wharf, Staybridge Suites Cardiff offers 73 pet-friendly, modern one-bedroom suites that deliver the comforts of home with fully equipped kitchens, free Wi-Fi, comfortable living areas and flexible working spaces. Guests also have access to free on-site laundry facilities, parking, and a state-of-the-art gym allowing them to keep up with their fitness routine even when away from home.

From the moment guests step into the hotel, they will be made to feel at home with a warm, friendly welcome. As with all Staybridge Suites properties, the hotel features an onsite shop called The Pantry, stocking a variety of food options and everyday essentials for purchase. Alongside, daily housekeeping and complimentary breakfast, Staybridge Suites Cardiff hosts ‘Socials’ three nights a week, giving guests a chance to relax with drinks, snacks, and an opportunity to meet their neighbours.

Staybridge Suites Cardiff joins a portfolio of 312 hotels globally, including seven Staybridge Suites hotels in the UK located in cities such as London, Liverpool, Birmingham, Dundee, and Newcastle.
