Japan’s ZIPAIR announces Los Angeles as its first long-haul destination

Low cost carrier ZIPAIR has announced Los. Angeles as its first long-haul destination with nonstop flights from Tokyo.

Starting 25th December 2021, ZIPAIR will operate 3-weekly flights between Tokyo Narita Airport and Los Angeles International Airport. These flights will run with the following schedule:

  • Tokyo Narita-Los Angeles
  • Departure time: 14:45
  • Arrival time: 07:30
  • Flight time: 9 hours and 45 minutes
  • Flight number: ZG24
  • Frequency: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays
  • Los Angeles-Tokyo Narita
  • Departure time: 09:30
  • Arrival time: 14:25 (the next day)
  • Flight time: 11 hours and 55 minutes
  • Flight number: ZG23
  • Frequency: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays

Flights will be operated by Boeing B787-8 Dreamliners featuring 18 flat-bed Business Class seats and 272 standard Economy Class seats. Economy Class seats have a 31 inch seat pitch while Business Class seats have 42 inch of seats pitch. The seats do not have a seat back entertainment and passengers will be offered a fee-based option to browse the Internet and stream movies on the their smartphone or tablet.

There is a growing demand for nonstop flights between LAX and Narita International Airport, and we are pleased that ZIPAIR shares our desire to provide additional options for our guests who want to experience the food, culture, art and history of Japan and the surrounding region.

Fares for ZIPAIR’s inaugural Tokyo-Los Angeles flight start at 42864 Japanese Yen ($376) which is way lower than All Nippon Airways and Japan Airlines’ fares. For comparison, Japan Airlines is offering Tokyo-Los Angeles flight for 222000 Japanese Yen ($1273) while All Nippon Airways is selling economy class tickets 245000 Japanese Yen ($1405).
