Marriott’s Moxy brand opens a new hotel in Bergen, Norway

Marriott’s Moxy Hotels has opened its newest hotel, Moxy Bergen. This is the second Moxy hotel in Norway with the other being Moxy Oslo.

Located in Norway’s stunning Bergen, renowned for its eye-popping natural scenery, Moxy Bergen’s prime waterfront location offers views over Norway’s famed Fjord. The hotel is located in the business communities of Solheimsviken and Marineholmen. Bergen airport is 9.6 miles away from the airport.

Lobby

The hotel’s unique design is inspired by its destination; the exterior is coated with rails in a pattern mimicking the waves, and inside the centrepiece table is adorned with anchor ball lamps and rope decoration, telling the story of local harbour life. The stylish design uses natural elements, with wood being prevalent in furniture and installations throughout public spaces including the buzzing Bar, the centre of the Moxy experience. Interiors include unique decorations created by local artists, such as a Norwegian folklore figure from the forests of Norway.

Moxy Bergen features 199 guest rooms with premium bedding, a 55″ TV with Chromecast, designer amenities, and furiously fast Wi-Fi. Guest rooms offer views of either the fjords or the mountains.

Standard Guest room

Sustainability is at the core of Moxy Bergen. The hotel repurposes excess heat to CO2, used for the refrigeration system, and uses water directly from the fjord to heat and cool the building.

There’s a on-site bar and a 24/7 fitness centre. Moxy Bergen is a category 3 hotel in Marriott Bonvoy meaning you will have to spend 15,000 points for a off-peak award night, 17,500 points for a standard award night and 20,000 points for a peak award night.
