Marriott’s Moxy Hotels debuts in Bordeaux, France

American hospitality giant Marriott International has opened a new hotel under its Moxy brand in the city of Bordeaux in France. This is the 7th hotel under the Moxy brand in France.

Location

Moxy Bordeaux is located in the city’s Wet Docks harbour district and is steps away from the riverfront and the city’s top attractions. Bordeaux-Merignac Airport is 11.2 miles (18 kilometres) away from the hotel. The hotel is also within walking distance of the city’s Cité du Vin, a cultural centre dedicated to the heritage of wine.

Accommodations

The hotel consists of 133 guest rooms providing views of the port, the docks, or the ‘silo garden’ designed by François Neveux and Bernard Rouyer. Of the 133 rooms, 6 are designed to accommodate up to 4 people, with 5 of these including a 26 sqm balcony with panoramic views. All the rooms feature industrial style decor and include 42-inch smart TV’s and free wifi.

Dining

Moxy Bordeaux features only 1 bar called ‘Moxy Bar’ which is also known as Lobby Bar. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It also has a ‘microforest terrace’.

The ground floor will host a programme of events including presentations by local groups, clothing exchanges, yoga sessions, and sets by local DJs or artists. The hotel states that it is aiming to achieve the Green Key and Green Globe certification.

Marriott launched the Moxy brand in 2013. The brand currently has around 70 hotels across North America, Europe and Asia Pacific. The brand recently opened its 2nd property in Norway in the town of Bergen.
