Ryanair has announced that it has added over 2,00,000 extra seats on flights to Malta and the Balearic Islands following the addition of these islands to the United Kingdom government’s Green List. The announcement comes after rival low-cost carrier easyJet announced that it is also adding 50,000 extra seats on flights to these islands.
2,00,000 extra seats
Ryanair has added over 2,00,000 extra seats on flights from the United Kingdom to Malta, Ibiza and Palma in July, August & September as these islands make it onto the UK’s green listed destinations.
The low-cost carrier says that it is called on Grant Shapps, Secretary of State for Transport of the United Kingdom, to immediately add Cyprus, the Canaries and the Greek Islands, where COVID-19 case rates are equally low.
In reaction to the UK’s updated green list, Ryanair has launched a seat sale with fares available from £19.99 for travel until the end of September 2021 – but these summer sale prices must be booked by midnight Sunday, 27th June, only on the Ryanair’s website.

This announcement is a small step in the right direction and while we welcome the addition of Malta & the Balearics to the UK’s green list, we urge the Govt to immediately add equally safe destinations such as Cyprus, the Canaries & the Greek Islands, and also to immediately allow vaccinated UK & EU citizens to travel freely between the UK & the EU without restrictions. We are pleased to announce 200,000 extra seats to Malta, Ibiza & Palma throughout July, August & September. UK families can book a well-earned summer holiday safe in the knowledge that if their plans change, they can move their travel dates up to two times with a zero-change fee up until the end of December 2021. In reaction to the UK’s updated green list, we are releasing seats from just £19.99 for travel until the end of September 2021, which are available to book until midnight Sunday 27th June. Since these amazing low prices will be snapped up quickly, customers should log onto http://www.ryanair.com to avoid missing out.
