Emirates and Etihad airways have stopped flying to the United Kingdom from 13:00 today (29th January,2021), following the addition of UAE to the UK government’s ‘red list’ of banned destinations.
Finnair yesterday announced that it will re-start passenger flights from the UK and Ireland to Finland starting 25th January,2021.
Earlier, IH Aviation and Travel had reported that United Kingdom would require a negative COVID-19 test result from all international arrivals ‘as soon as possible’. However, we didn’t have an exact date.
The Department for Transport (DfT) said that all passengers arriving into the United Kingdom will be required to present a negative COVID-19 test result taken no more than 72 hours from the start of their journey.
Singapore Airlines has resumed transit services from London to Australia and New Zealand under a special arrangement.

India’s Civil Aviation Ministry has decided to further extend the ban on scheduled international flights until 31st January,2021.
Philippines has expanded the travel ban to 19 more countries after the country imposed a travel ban on United Kingdom amid concerns of a newly detected and fast-spreading COVID-19 variant.
India has extended UK Travel ban till 7th January,2021.
This move comes after Japan reported 1st cases of newly detected fast-spreading variant in passengers arriving from the United Kingdom on Friday.
