SpiceJet launches flights between Kochi and Hyderabad

SpiceJet has launched nonstop flights between Kochi and Hyderabad, a business heavy route it was absent on. The airline will compete with Indigo and GoFirst on this route.

SpiceJet has launched flights between the capitals of Indian states of Telangana and Kerala. The inaugural flight took off on 1st July 2021. The Indian low-cost carrier will fly 3-times-a-week between Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport and Cochin (Kochi) International Airport.

The scheduled for this new route is:

  • Hyderabad-Kochi
  • Departure time: 16:15
  • Arrival time: 17:45
  • Flight time: 1 hour and 30 minutes
  • Flight number: SG342
  • Frequency: Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays
  • Kochi-Hyderabad
  • Departure time: 14:15
  • Arrival time: 15:45
  • Flight time: 1 hour and 30 minutes
  • Flight number: SG341
  • Frequency: Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays

SpiceJet will deploy a Boeing B737-800 on this route. Note that the Hyderabad-Kochi leg is a continuation of the Kolkata-Guwahati-Hyderabad flight, meaning that the airline will operate a total of three flights under the same flight number. SpiceJet flight number SG341 will run as Kolkata-Guwahati-Hyderabad-Kochi and SG342 will run as Kochi-Hyderabad-Guwahati-Kolkata.

Rival Indian low cost carrier Indigo and GoFirst both operates flights on this route. Indigo operates twice-daily flights (increasing to 3-times-a-day in August 2021) while GoFirst operates a daily flight.
