Hyatt debuts in Koh Samui with the opening of Hyatt Regency, Koh Samui

Hyatt Hotels and Resorts has today opened its first property on the southern resort island of Koh Samui in Thailand, Hyatt Regency Koh Samui.

Location

Located in the vibrant area of North Chaweng, Hyatt Regency Koh Samui is approximately eight minutes away from the airport. The resort offers guests a private retreat nestled within the lush embrace of nature, with direct access to a semi-private beach.

Design

Hyatt Regency Koh Samui is built around more than 600 protected Yang Na and coconut trees. The resort’s simple yet captivating spaces are designed by celebrated architect Smith Obayawat of The Office of Bangkok Architects, Pongthep Sagulku of August Design, and Wannaporn Phornprapha of landscape studio, P Landscape, . They showcase the beauty of the coastal landscape, the forest of protected trees and the ocean.

The Gallery of Eight – eight photogenic spots dotted around the resort – is inspired by the island’s idyllic lifestyle and unique landmarks. The long dramatic lobby illuminated with skylights guides the eye to a perfectly framed and breathtaking ocean view, immersing visitors in this charming tropical getaway.

Beyond the lobby, guests can stroll through a valley of tropical flora and fauna, pick fresh ingredients in the organic garden for a cooking class, experience a taste of the local fishermen’s lifestyle, and capture the stunning sunrise or sunset from elevated viewpoints.

Adrian Pulido, General Manager, Hyatt Regency Koh Samui, said:

We are excited to debut Hyatt Regency Koh Samui and invite guests to experience our picturesque retreat and the warmth of Thai hospitality where they can relax and recharge amid this blissful scenery. Our resort has been thoughtfully designed to offer distinctive accommodation, culture-infused programs and inspired seasonal menus so that our guests can discover timeless connections and celebrate any occasion with us.

Located next to Yangna, Cobalt serves fresh juice, iced tea and coffee while Kube is the perfect place to enjoy a Thai-inspired afternoon tea or crafted cocktails accompanied by mesmerizing views from the highest point of the resort.

Facilities

Hyatt Regency Koh Samui is a family-friendly resort. It features five freeform swimming pools – including a lap pool, plunge pool, family pool with a whirlpool and kids’ pool with a slide – which cascade to the beach. At Camp Hyatt, children can enjoy supervised play and activities from arts and crafts to movie nights.

Lush tropical plants lead down a grand staircase to the spa, a tranquil sanctuary featuring five treatment rooms, including two couple’s suites with a private deck and outdoor tub. Guests can relax and recharge with a curated menu of revitalizing treatments incorporating indigenous Thai ingredients and wellness traditions. A 24/7 fitness centre fitted with the latest Matrix Fitness cardio and strength machines and manned by experienced health professionals is also available.

For meetings and events, the resort offers both indoor and outdoor venues. Regency Ballroom can accommodate up to 100 guests for a majestic wedding banquet or 150 for cocktails, and can be divided for more intimate events. A 97 square meter provides a perfect setting for wedding celebrations and alfresco events against the backdrop of the shimmering ocean and the sound of the waves.

Meanwhile, Hyatt recently celebrated the opening of Alila Hinu Bay, the second Alila property in Oman. The American hospitality chain has also recently opened Hyatt Place London City East and Hyatt Centric SouthPark Charlotte.
