Hyatt has announced that a Hyatt affiliate has entered into a management agreement with an affiliate of Millat Properties for Hyatt House Johannesburg Sandton.
The opening of this property will mark the debut of Hyatt’s select service and extended stay brand, Hyatt House, in the continent.
Hyatt House Johannesburg Sandton will be located in the Sandton area, a popular business and leisure hub. The hotel will consist of 43 studio guest rooms and 19 apartment-style suites, all with fully equipped kitchens and separate living areas.
Ludwig Bouldoukian, Regional Vice President of Development for the Middle East and Africa, said:

Facilities will include a unique concept for an alternative dining experience in the Treehouse, H Market offering grab-and-go snacks and drinks, an outdoor swimming pool and a fitness centre.

Slated to open in October this year, this will be the third Hyatt-branded hotel in South Africa, joining Hyatt Regency Johannesburg and Hyatt Regency Cape Town.
Meanwhile, Hyatt recently opened Thompson Savannah, Hyatt Centric Downtown Nashville, Hyatt Regency Koh Samui, Hyatt Place London City East, Hyatt Place Ekaterinburg (the brand’s debut hotel in Russia), Alila Hinu Bay, Hyatt Regency Tokyo Bay, Hyatt House OSU Short North Columbus and Hyatt Centric Charlotte South Park. The American hospitality chain has also announced that its Luxury and Lifestyle brands are continuing to grow globally in order to ‘meet leisure travel demand’.
