Spain is the latest country to open to fully vaccinated travellers from India. Its consular offices in India has started issuing visas across all categories from 2nd August 2021.
Only fully-vaccinated Indian travellers are eligible to travel to Spain. Note that those who have received two doses of Covishield will be the only ones allowed to enter Spain while those who have received Covaxin jabs are not eligible to travel. Children under 12 years of age are not required to present these certificates or supporting documents.
Spain has been welcoming international travellers since 7th July 2021.
You will need a Schengen visa or apply for a Spanish visa through BLS International. Only the Delhi centre is processing applications at the moment.
The plus point is that in case your flight is cancelled or you are unable to travel during the visa period, you are allowed to change the dates of trip. The new sticker will be issued with no cost from the Embassy or Consulate. However, you will have to make a fresh application.

Additionally, if you need to change the validity of the visa, you only need to submit the passport and fresh flight reservation (not confirmed tickets), if the visa period has not started. If you need to make this change after your visa is in effect, you need to reapply with all documents. Note that in both cases, visa fees of the Consulate are exempt. Applicants may present the passport for date change, or fresh application (only for above stated cases) directly at the Consulate as well, with prior appointment.
Spain is among the best vaccinated countries in Europe, with more than 60% population fully vaccinated. Restaurants and shops are open in most parts of the country, though specific restrictions may vary across regions.
COVID-19 cases have been dropping for the last few days, but it remains on the UK’s Amber List. For travellers from India, that means a 10-day quarantine in the United Kingdom, if they plan to use Spain for third-country transit.
