Wizz Air Abu Dhabi has announced flights to Bahrain. In addition to the recently-announced Tirana and Sarajevo flights, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi’s new Bahrain route is the airline’s 32nd destination.
With Wizz Air Abu Dhabi finally up and running in January this year, the airline has expanded significantly. The UAE-based carrier has announced Bahrain as its newest destination, taking its total destinations to 32 destinations.
Starting 9th September 2021, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi will fly 3-times-a-week between Abu Dhabi International Airport and Bahrain International Airport. The schedule is as follows:
- Abu Dhabi-Bahrain
- Departure time: 07:10
- Arrival time: 07:25
- Flight time: 1 hour and 15 minutes
- Frequency: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays
- Bahrain-Abu Dhabi
- Departure time: 08:00
- Arrival time: 10:15
- Flight time: 1 hour and 15 minutes
- Frequency: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi is already selling fares through its website and mobile app, with one-way trips starting at AED129 ($35).
Bahrain has been added to Abu Dhabi’s Green list since 31st July 2021. The latest update to the Green List allows travel from 31 countries, with eight new countries (including Bahrain) added this time around.
Vaccinated and unvaccinated travellers from Green List countries are exempt from quarantine upon arrival in Abu Dhabi. However, all passengers will need to take a COVID-19 RT-PCR test after arriving at the airport. Vaccinated travellers will need an additional RT-PCR test on day six, while unvaccinated travelers will need RT-PCR tests on day six and day twelve.
Wizz Air Abu Dhabi has been growing rapidly since it started its operations in January 2021. The airline will fly to 32 destinations after it launches flights to Bahrain next month.
The carrier announced four additional routes in June, which includes three destinations in Greece (Chania, Mykonos and Rhodes). Last week, the airline added Tirana and Sarajevo to its network. Flights to Tirana will commence on 11th September, while Sarajevo flights will begin on 3rd October.
Meanwhile, Wizz Air has postponed the launch of Cardiff base until Summer 2022.
