Alaska Airlines announces nonstop flights between Anchorage and Salt Lake City

Alaska Airlines has announced new nonstop flights between Anchorage and Salt Lake City. With this route, along with newly announced service between Anchorage and Minneapolis-St. Paul, Alaska Airlines will offer nonstop service connecting Alaska to the top 10 travel destinations in the continental US this summer. This is in addition to nonstop flights from Anchorage to Honolulu and Maui.

Starting 18th June 2022, Alaska Airlines will operate 2-weekly nonstop flights between Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport and Salt Lake City International Airport. The flights will run with the following schedule:

  • Salt Lake City-Anchorage
  • Departure time: 08:30
  • Arrival time: 11:10
  • Flight time: 4 hours and 40 minutes
  • Flight number: AS979
  • Frequency: Saturdays and Sundays
  • Anchorage-Salt Lake City
  • Departure time: 12:40
  • Arrival time: 19:10
  • Flight time: 4 hours and 30 minutes
  • Flight number: AS980
  • Frequency: Saturdays and Sundays

These flights will be operated by a Boeing B737-900.

This summer, Alaska will fly nonstop to 12 destinations between Anchorage and the Lower 48 and Hawaii: Chicago, Denver, Honolulu, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Maui, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Phoenix, Portland, Salt Lake City, San Francisco and Seattle.

We’re committed to keeping Alaskaand our guests connected across our network, and with our new oneworld membership, Alaskans can take advantage of more than 1,000 global destinations served by our partners.

Alaska will compete with Delta Airlines on Salt Lake City-Anchorage route. Delta operates 5-weekly flights (increasing to daily from 3rd January 2022) between the two cities.

Meanwhile, Alaska Airlines recently opened a new lounge at San Francisco International Airport.
