Canada-based Swoop Airlines has announced a major expansion plan in Edmonton that will see 9 new route launches including a new service to Palm Springs, United States.
Swoop Airlines will start new flights from Edmonton International Airport to 8 Canadian cities and 1 U.S. city. The airline’s significant new investments were celebrated on 15th November 2021 alongside the unveiling of Swoop’s newest aircraft, which will fly with the name #Edmonton.
The airline’s growth will see Swoop’s flight capacity in Alberta’s capital increase 76% compared to pre-pandemic levels, supporting the creation of 140 additional direct and spin-off jobs and an anticipated $120M of economic output activity in 2022.

9 new routes
Swoop will add new flights from Edmonton to the following destinations:
- Ottawa : starting 25th April 2022 – 4-flights-a-week
- Halifax : starting 1st May 2022 – 5-flights-a-week
- Kelowna : starting 5th May 2022 – daily flights
- Comox : starting 9th June 2022 – 3-flights-a-week
- Saskatoon : starting 14th June 2022 – 2-flights-a-week
- Charlottetown : starting 16th June 2022 – 2-flights-a-week
- Regina : starting 16th June 2022 – 2-flights-a-week
- Moncton : starting 17th June 2022 – 2-flights-a-week

In addition to these routes, starting 16th December 2021, the Ultra low-cost carrier will start service between Edmonton and Palm Springs, thus growing its transborder presence. These flights will run 2-times-a-week.
And as of 2nd June 2022, Swoop will once again operate 3-weekly flights between Edmonton and London, Ontario.
The carrier will continue to operate flights to the following destinations from Edmonton:
- Winnipeg : 3-flights-a-week
- Toronto : twice-daily flights
- Hamilton : daily flight
- Abbotsford : daily flight
- Victoria : daily flight
- Las Vegas : daily flight
- Phoenix : once-weekly flight

Meanwhile, Swoop Airlines recently announced new flights between Winnipeg and Orlando for the winter season.
