Spirit Airlines has announced that it will launch flights to Salt Lake City in May 2022. Salt Lake City will be the airline’s first destination in the state of Utah.
Spirit to Salt Lake City
Starting 26th May 2022, Spirit will operate flights from Salt Lake City to the following destinations:
- Las Vegas: twice-daily flights
- Los Angeles: daily flight
- Orlando: daily flight
These flights will be operated by Spirit’s Airbus A320 family aircraft. The new service marks the first time Spirit will serve the state of Utah, which boasts world-class outdoor recreation, spectacular landscapes and numerous options to experience the arts.

Spirit will be the first new domestic airline to announce operations following the 2020 unveiling of The New SLC, a $4.5 billion airport rebuild project. The low cost carrier says that its arrival at the airport will mean increased competition and benefiting local families with more flight options.
Bill Wyatt, Executive Director, Salt Lake City Department of Airports, said:
We are thrilled to welcome Spirit Airlines to Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC). Spirit has the distinction of being the first new domestic carrier to come aboard since opening The New SLC. The Spirit model will be a popular addition to SLC’s portfolio of airlines.
Spirit will compete with Delta Airlines on all of the 3 routes. Delta is the largest airline at Salt Lake City International Airport. In fact, Salt Lake City is one of the many hubs of Delta.
Spirit’s new Salt Lake City service adds to the airline’s continued network expansion. Recently, Spirit launched service in Tegucigalpa, Honduras; Manchester, New Hampshire and Miami, Florida.
Meanwhile, Spirit Airlines recently announced the addition of Memphis to its route map.
