SpiceJet to launch flights between Delhi and Porbandar: expands from Mumbai and Ahmedabad

SpiceJet has announced that it will launch flights between Delhi and Porbandar. The airline will also launch new flights from Mumbai and Ahmedabad.

Delhi-Porbandar

Starting 27th April 2022, SpiceJet will operate 4-flights-a-week between Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport and Porbandar Airport. The flights will run with the following schedule:

  • Delhi-Porbandar
  • Departure time: 14:00
  • Arrival time: 16:25
  • Flight time: 2 hours and 25 minutes
  • Flight number: SG3725
  • Frequency: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays
  • Porbandar-Delhi
  • Departure time: 16:45
  • Arrival time: 17:15
  • Flight time: 2 hours and 30 minutes
  • Flight number: SG3726
  • Frequency: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays

These flights will be operated by Bombardier Dash-8 Q400s featuring standard Economy Class seats.

SpiceJet presently operates daily flights between Mumbai and Porbandar. In the past, Porbandar was connected to Ahmedabad by TruJet, but due to financial problems of the airline, it has suspended the route. So now, Porbandar is a monopoly station of SpiceJet with flights to two of India’s biggest cities.

New flights elsewhere in/from India

International:

The low-cost carrier will launch nonstop flights on Ahmedabad-Muscat, Mumbai-Dhaka, Mumbai-Riyadh, Mumbai-Jeddah, Kozhikode-Jeddah and Kozhikode-Riyadh routes.

Domestic:

SpiceJet will also launch nonstop flights on Ahmedabad-Goa, Ahmedabad-Bagdogra, Ahmedabad-Shirdi, Mumbai-Tirupati and Mumbai-Guwahati routes.

The airline will add additional frequencies on Delhi-Jabalpur, Delhi-Leh, Ahmedabad-Dehradun, Hyderabad-Shirdi, Mumbai-Goa and Mumbai-Srinagar routes.

These flights will be operated by a mix of Boeing B737 and Q400 aircraft.

Shilpa Bhatia, Chief Operating Officer, SpiceJet, said:

We are delighted to introduce new flights on domestic and international routes. With the economy reviving from the pandemic slump, this will help us to enhance our presence in the aviation industry domestically as well as globally. Along with enhancing convenience for general travellers, tourism and local economy on these routes will get much needed boost as many of them are important religious and leisure travel destinations.

The airline states that the additions are aimed at strengthening its domestic and international network to meet current and emerging demands.

Meanwhile, SpiceJet recently launched flights to between Delhi and Pantnagar.
