ITC Hotels has announced the opening of ITC Narmada, the hospitality company’s first hotel in Gujarat under its flagship brand.
ITC Narmada is conveniently located in the business district of Ahmedabad. The hotel, located in Vastrapur area of the city, is located 16 kilometres away from Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. The city’s main Railway station at Kalupur is 8.8 kilometres from the hotel.
The 19-storey, 70 metre grand structure is an architectural marvel towering over Ahmedabad’s skyline with its fine indigenous grandeur and contemporary design.
In line with ITC Hotels philosophy of staying rooted to the soil of the land, ITC Narmada creates a brand folklore – where various art works and artistic affiliation will spotlight the cultural panorama of Ahmedabad. ITC Narmada draws its architectural inspiration from the heritage icons of Gujarat. The façade elements are inspired by the classical Gujarat Toran of the Sun Temple at Modhera and the unique step wells that were once integral to the region.
The central atrium lobby and its majestic water wall is a tribute to lifeline river Sabarmati. The building façade carries elements of local craft including an interpretation of the famous “Tree of Life” at the Sidi Syed Mosque in Ahmedabad. The super imposing step wells architecture to latticework and mirrors, silks, brocades, world famous cotton weaves and teakwood of Narmada’s basins will be the hallmark of ITC Narmada’s artistic elevation.
ITC Narmada features 291 guest rooms, including 28 suites. These also include “Single Lady Traveller Rooms”. There are four room categories available at the hotel: Executive Club, Towers Room, ITC One and Deluxe Suite.
The base rooms, Executive Club rooms, start at a generous 43 square meters, making them one of the most spacious base-category rooms in the city. The accommodations feature décor that celebrates the vibrant arts and crafts of Gujarat.
Each room at the hotel has an iPad, using which guests can control all the features of the room along with surfing internet. If someone knocks on the door, guests can even see his or her face through the iPad.
In the bathrooms, guests can find wooden tooth brushes and wooden shaving kits instead of plastic ones.
