A long pending demand
Jamnagar is known as โBrass Cityโ since it produces the largest amount of Brass items in India. It is also known as โWorld’s Oil Cityโ because some of the world’s biggest oil refineries, belonging to Reliance Industries and Nayara Energy, are situated here.
Since many years, the people and businessmen of Jamnagar have been demanding additional flights to cities like Mumbai, Delhi & Bengaluru.
With these two new services, Jamnagar will be have three daily services to the Mumbai Metropolitan Region – two to Mumbaiโs Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM) and one to Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMI). Star Air will continue to operate a daily service to Ahmedabad (AMD) and Surat (STV) in the summer schedule. In total, there will be five daily flights from Jamnagar (JGA).
In the ongoing winter schedule, IndiGo had obtained slots for a daily Delhi (DEL)-Jamnagar (JGA) service but didnโt actually start flights. Itโs good to finally know about IndiGo officially adding Jamnagar (JGA) to its network.
