Etihad Airways has announced that it will return to Kolkata in March next year with a daily flight from Abu Dhabi.
As of 26th March 2023, which is the first day of summer schedule 2023, Etihad Airways will operate a daily flight between Abu Dhabi International Airport and Kolkata’s Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport.
Flights on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays will run with the following schedule:
- Abu Dhabi-Kolkata
- Departure time: 13:50
- Arrival time: 20:10
- Flight time: 4 hours and 50 minutes
- Flight number: EY256
- Kolkata-Abu Dhabi
- Departure time: 21:15
- Arrival time: 00:55 (the next day)
- Flight time: 5 hours and 10 minutes
- Flight number: EY257
Flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays will operate with the following schedule:
- Abu Dhabi-Kolkata
- Departure time: 21:10
- Arrival time: 03:30 (the next day)
- Flight time: 4 hours and 50 minutes
- Flight number: EY258
- Kolkata-Abu Dhabi
- Departure time: 04:35
- Arrival time: 08:15
- Flight time: 4 hours and 50 minutes
- Flight number: EY259
- Note: This flight will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays
Flights will be operated by Etihad’s Airbus A320 aircraft featuring 8 Business Class seats and 150 standard Economy Class seats, totalling 1,106 seats per week on either way.

Etihad will be the sole operator on this route. The arrival of Etihad once again in Kolkata signals the airline’s confidence in the city and in the Indian market as a whole.
Recently, the carrier announced an increase in the frequency of flights to New York JFK. The airline will fly twice daily to the Big Apple as of 24th April 2023. Etihad says that this will offer better connectivity between India and the United States and better travel opportunities for those travelling to/from Kolkata.
Our return to Kolkata will also come at the same time as we go double daily to New York, providing better access between India and the United States via Abu Dhabi where our guests can take advantage of our US Preclearance facility for a seamless arrival into the States. This announcement will herald the start of an exciting summer season. We know this will mean a lot to our guests, whether they are travelling for business, for leisure or visiting family and friends.

The resumption of flights to Kolkata means Etihad will now fly to 14 destinations across the Indian Subcontinent in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Maldives.
