Etihad Airways commences service to two more cities in India

Etihad Airways has marked the start of the new year by launching service to two more cities in India.

As of 1st January 2024, Etihad is operating daily flights from Abu Dhabi to Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram. These non-stop services to each destination bring the total number of Indian gateways served by Etihad to 10.

Daily service to Kozhikode operates with the following schedule:

• Abu Dhabi-Kozhikode
• Departure time: 14:40
• Arrival time: 19:55
• Flight time: 3 hours and 45 minutes
• Flight number: EY248

• Kozhikode-Abu Dhabi
• Departure time: 21:30
• Arrival time: 00:05 (the next day)
• Flight time: 4 hours and 05 minutes
• Flight number: EY249

The daily service to Thiruvananthapuram runs with the following schedule:

• Abu Dhabi-Thiruvananthapuram
• Departure time: 03:20
• Arrival time: 09:00
• Flight time: 4 hours and 10 minutes
• Flight number: EY292

• Thiruvananthapuram-Abu Dhabi
• Departure time: 10:05
• Arrival time: 12:55
• Flight time: 4 hours and 20 minutes
• Flight number: EY293

Flights to Kozhikode operate with Airbus A321 aircraft while flights to Thiruvananthapuram operate with Airbus A320 aircraft. Recently, Malaysia Airlines also added Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala to its network.

Etihad says that the “introduction of this service enhances accessibility to the picturesque countryside and beaches that Kerala is renowned for, creating increased inbound tourism to the region”.

In 2023, the airline reintroduced services to Kolkata. Additionally, the flag carrier of UAE has increased the frequencies of flights to Mumbai and Delhi, two of its most popular routes, from two per day to four flights per day.

Meanwhile, Etihad Airways recently announced that it will once again deploy Airbus A380 on flights to New York JFK.
