Akasa Air has announced that it has adopted DigiYatra at nine airports across India.
Akasa Air now offers DigiYatra’s facial recognition system across the following nine major airports of the country:
- Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport
- New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport
- Varanasi’s Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport
- Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport
- Lucknow’s Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport
- Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai International Airport
- Guwahati’s Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport
- Kolkata’s Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport
- Pune International Airport

The airline says that the adoption of DigiYatra “reflects Akasa Air’s ongoing commitment to innovation and providing an unparalleled travel experience for its passengers”.
The DigiYatra service, a fully biometric-based self-boarding solution, ensures a hassle-free travel experience for passengers. Before entering the terminal, travelers can conveniently register their ID and biometric data, along with their flight details, on the user-friendly DigiYatra app. As they navigate through the airport, state-of-the-art biometric technology authenticates and verifies passengers’ identities, offering the highest levels of safety and security.
Meanwhile, Akasa Air recently announced Doha as its first international destination.
