A unique surprise occurred on an IndiGo flight 6E 122 from Delhi to Bangalore yesterday. IndiGo crew reportedly assisted during the birth and have won praise for their assistance.

The airline also celebrated and had planned for the arrival of the baby, with an ambulance ready on the tarmac and ground teams standing-by, applauding the mother and baby boy.

Will the baby get free tickets for life?

Generally, when a baby is born on a flight of a particular airline, the airline gives out free tickets for life in honour of the special event. Many airlines have done that. Examples include airlines like Jet airways and Air Asia in 2017 and 2009 respectively where both the airlines announced that it will be giving lifetime free tickets for the baby. Some are speculating that IndiGo will do the same, yet the airline is yet to confirm anything.

It is good to see such events which make us happy happen in these times of pandemic.
