Qatar Airways to launch Seattle route one and half months early

Qatar airways on 31st December,2020, announced in a press release that it would bring forward the launch of Seattle route by one and half months.

As IH Aviation and Travel had reported earlier, Qatar Airways will be launching a new route to Washington state’s largest city, Seattle. However, there is a change in the plan.

Qatar airways will bring forward the launch of its 4-weekly flights to Seattle from 15th March,2021 to 29th January,2021. The route launch has been brought forward by a month and a half.

Qatar Airways had originally planned to use Airbus A350 aircraft on this route but instead the Doha-based airline will operate the route with a Boeing B777 featuring 42 seats in Business Class and 312 seats in Economy Class. Qatar airways operates Qsuite on all of its US routes.

  • Doha-Seattle
  • Departure time- 8:00
  • Arrival time- 12:20
  • Flight time- 14 hours and 20 minutes
  • Flight number- QR719
  • Seattle-Doha
  • Departure time- 17:05
  • Arrival time- 17:15 (the next day)
  • Flight time- 14 hours and 10 minutes
  • Flight number- QR720

Qatar Airways is launching the route tie into Alaska Airlines’ network as the latter looks to join the Oneworld alliance towards the end of March.

We are committed to improving the global traveller experience, and will continue to invest confidently in projects such as the International Arrivals Facility and North Satellite Modernization programs at SEA.”, said Peter Steinbrueck, Port of Seattle Commission President.

Seattle is the seventh new destination added by Qatar Airways since the start of the pandemic. The launch of flights to Seattle will increase Qatar Airways’ U.S. network to 66 weekly flights to 11 destinations in the United States.

Qatar airways on 15th December,2020, launched a frequent flyer partnership with Alaska Airlines and plans to implement codeshare co-operation with the airline in line with it joining Oneworld alliance in March 2021 which will complement Qatar Airways existing strong partnership with fellow Oneworld member, American Airlines.
