According to a press release seen by MoneyControl, SpiceJet will add multiple new flights from Jaipur. Also known as ‘Pink City’, SpiceJet will connect Jaipur with daily flights to Delhi, Udaipur, Surat (onwards to Goa), 4-weekly flights to Dehradun, and 3-weekly flights to Amritsar.

After connecting Pakyong with Delhi, the airline will now also connect Pakyong with Kolkata with a 5-times-a-week flight under the government’s regional connectivity scheme- UDAN. The Indian low-cost carrier will also add a second daily flight between Delhi and Dehradun.

All the new flights are scheduled to commence operations effective February 1 and February 10, 2021, the company said in a press note.

SpiceJet has announced an introductory promotional fare ranging between ₹2,407 ($33) and ₹3,981($54) for its new services.

All of the new services will be operated by Bombardier Dash-Q400 aircraft (pictured above).

“There can’t be a better time to launch multiple flights to connect this picturesque and historical city with other major cities owing to the perfect weather conditions for travel and tourism. As Covid cases are slowly diminishing, travel destinations like Jaipur make a perfect weekend get-away for everyone with special introductory prices on one-way fares. Plus, we will keep adding new flights to various other Tier-2 cities offering great potential.”

said Shilpa Bhatia, Chief Commercial Officer, SpiceJet.

SpiceJet isn’t the only airline looking to expand its business in smaller cities. Competitor Indigo had announced 7 new regional bases a few weeks ago.
