Emirates announces second daily A380 flight to Cairo

Emirates has announced a second daily Airbus A380 flight to Cairo citing high passenger demand.

Additional daily A380 flight

Starting yesterday, Emirates is offering a second daily Airbus A380 flight from Dubai International Airport to Cairo International Airport in Egypt.

The schedule of both the flights is:

First flight

  • Dubai-Cairo
  • Departure time- 08:10
  • Arrival time- 10:25
  • Flight time- 4 hours and 15 minutes
  • Flight number- EK927
  • Cairo-Dubai
  • Departure time- 12:25
  • Arrival time- 17:45
  • Flight time- 3 hours and 20 minutes
  • Flight number- EK928

  • Dubai-Cairo
  • Departure time- 15:00
  • Arrival time- 17:15
  • Flight time- 4 hours and 15 minutes
  • Flight number- EK923
  • Cairo-Dubai
  • Departure time- 19:20
  • Arrival time- 00:50 (the next day)
  • Flight time- 3 hours and 30 minutes
  • Flight number- EK924

Emirates also operates a 3rd daily flight between Dubai and the Egyptian capital that is operated by a Boeing B777. The schedule for the same is:

  • Arrival time- 23:05
  • Flight time- 4 hours and 15 minutes

  • Cairo-Dubai

Emirates A380 first flew to Cairo in 2019

Emirates first introduced its flagship Airbus A380 aircraft on the Dubai to Cairo route on 2nd October, 2019, making it the first commercial airline to have a regularly scheduled A380 flight to Egypt.

When speaking about the importance of the flight, Adel Al Redha, Chief Operating Officer, Emirates said:

Our close relationship with Egypt spans over 30 years, and we reaffirm our commitment to the country by operating our iconic A380 to Cairo. We are setting the stage to make the popular A380 experience a part of our scheduled service to Cairo. Egypt has always been a significant destination for us in the region, and we are humbled to be able to play a role in making aviation history in Egypt. We are confident that Egyptian travelers will enjoy the Emirates A380 experience, especially our innovative products such as the onboard lounge and shower spa.

Emirates A380 can carry up to 516 passemgers

The Dubai based airline’s A380 that flies between Dubai and Cairo has a three-class configuration that has 14 luxurious first class suites, 76 flat bed business class and 426 economy class seats.

Nigeria service suspension extended

Meanwhile, Emirates has extended its ban on flights between Dubai and Lagos & Abuja until 20th March, according to the Dubai English language newspaper, the Khaleej Times. In February, Emirates said that its suspension of flights to Nigeria would last until 10 March.

Emirates in a statement said:

In line with government directives, passenger services from Nigeria (Lagos and Abuja) to Dubai are temporarily suspended until March 20, 2021. Customers from both Abuja and Lagos will not be accepted for travel prior to or including this date. Passengers who have been to or connected through Nigeria in the last 14 days are not allowed entry into the UAE (whether terminating in or connecting through Dubai.

The airline’s services from Dubai to Lagos and Abuja will continue to fly as per the standard schedule.
