Japan Airlines to fly between Bengaluru and Tokyo Narita

Japan Airlines has announced flights between Bengaluru in India and Tokyo Narita in Japan.

Starting in June, Japan Airlines will operate one flight per week between Tokyo Narita and Bengaluru, under the air bubble agreement between India and Japan.

Flight schedule of Tokyo-Bengaluru-Tokyo route from 1st June to 30th September,2021:

  • Tokyo Narita-Bengaluru
  • Departure time: 18:25
  • Arrival time: 00:15 (the next day)
  • Flight time: 9 hours and 20 minutes
  • Flight number: JL753
  • Frequency: Thursday only
  • Bengaluru-Tokyo Narita
  • Departure time: 02:45
  • Arrival time: 14:55
  • Flight time: 8 hours and 40 minutes
  • Flight number: JL754
  • Frequency: Saturday only

Japan Airlines is also running flights between Tokyo Narita and Bengaluru on:

  • 2nd April
  • 22nd April
  • 13th May

and between Bengaluru and Tokyo Narita on:

  • 4th April
  • 24th April
  • 15th May

Japan Airlines also serves Delhi in India. The airline will fly on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays between the two capital cities between 16th April and 30th September,2021. From 1st October onwards, the frequency will increase to daily flight. Between 1st April and 15th April, the Japanese carrier will fly on Thursdays and Saturdays between Delhi and Tokyo.

Who can fly and what are the requirements?

Delhi-Tokyo Haneda and Bengaluru-Tokyo Narita flights:

Booking RBD / Class – Book B class and above for Economy and C class and above for Business will be open.

Categories of passengers eligible to fly:

  • Stranded Japanese passengers and their dependents.
  • All non-Japanese passengers holding Japan PR and dependents will also be permitted on these flights irrespective of their nationalities. Japan Airlines shall accept the booking for Indian nationals falling in this category.

All passengers need to obtain a negative COVID-19 test report with swab collection within 72 hours of departure. Fresh visas are issued by Japan Embassy under special circumstances.

In addition to the negative report, passengers also need to carry the certificate of testing of Covid-19. The certificate must be properly filled, stamped, and signed by authorised doctor. All passengers need to fill in the necessary information on the questionnaire web in advance at the departure airport and show the QR code issued to you on the website to a quarantine officer at the arrival airport.

Tokyo Haneda-Delhi and Tokyo Narita-Bengaluru flights:

Booking RBD / Class – Book K class and above for Economy and D class and above for Business will be open.

Both Indian and Japanese airlines while operating inbound flights into India can carry the following passengers:

  • Stranded Indian nationals,
  • All Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders holding passports of Japan, and foreigners (including diplomats) holding valid visas issued by an Indian Mission in any category covered under Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) guidelines, as amended from time to time.

There is a mandatory requirement of travel-related information/ self-declaration/ related documentation by the passenger itself. Passengers must visit the self-declaration form.

A mandatory negative RT PCR report with the test conducted within 72 hours prior to the departure from TYO is required.

The airline in an official release said:

In case any passenger is been observed/deemed not fit to travel due to medical/or any other reason pertaining to health issues/ competent regulatory health protocol not adhered and that may be observed/assumed as to possibly impact the fellow passenger health during an ongoing pandemic, may be denied boarding at the sole discretion of Japan Airlines. Hence Japan Airlines reserve the right of boarding subject to physical health evaluation.

Aircraft

Japan Airlines will be deploying a Boeing 787 Dreamliner on Bengaluru route and a Boeing 777 on Delhi route.

Meanwhile, Japan Airlines has announced the flights to Moscow Sheremetyevo from Tokyo Haneda.
