Ultra-luxury resort chain, One&Only Resorts has debuted in Europe with One&Only Portonovi in Montenegro. One&Only Portonovi is located at the entrance of Boka Bay, at the edge of the Adriatic Sea in Montenegro and is welcoming guests since 1st May 2021.
With its moated walled towns, backdrop of unspoilt coastal mountains and perched amongst one of the sunniest year-round spots on the Adriatic, the resort is a perfectly placed sanctuary from which to explore the coastline and charms of Montenegro.

Location
One&Only Portonovi is located in Boka Bay, one of the most stunning bays in Montenegro and ‘a still undiscovered destination that should be part of any European circuit’ according to One&Only. Boka Bay features shimmering waters, dramatic mountains and a meandering coastline fringed by lush forest. Guests staying at the resort can journey between the many secluded beaches and ancient towns that have preserved their original architecture and charm with the resort’s own private boat. The resort is a 1 hour drive from Dubrovnik airport, a 50 minutes drive from Tivat Airport and a 2 and half hours drive from Podgorica airport.
Accommodations
The resort has 113 guest rooms, suites, villas and signature villas. The rooms are inspired by cerulean seas, emerald valleys, terracotta rooftops and crisp silver mountainsides. All the accommodations at the resort have bay view rooms with some marketed at ‘Panoramic’ bay view rooms.
For the 1st time in Europe, One&Only is offering those who are interested to own their own piece of the One&Only Lifestyle the chance to invest in a permanent home with One&Only Private Homes. Each home offers the unique characteristics of One&Only living: abundant space, refined design, intuitive service, and consummate privacy and is supremely positioned and designed specially to enjoy uninterrupted views of the surrounding bay, mountains and marina. Each home comes with its own private beach, jetty, secluded pools and a private butler, ensuring that residents’ every need is taken care of throughout their stay.
Each residence at the resort has been designed to incorporate the grand façades, majestic colonnades, and gabled terracotta rooftops, symbolic of Montenegrin architecture. Interiors are elegantly styled, inspired by the baroque palazzos of Kotor, and the nearby Venetian-built port of Perast. Owners will have the opportunity to customise their villa according to their style.
Villa Oren, a 4-bedroom, 15000 square meter villa, ideal for families, complete with its own private beach, roof garden and jetty, offering the perfect playground for every generation. Villa Lovcen, meanwhile, reflects the Montenegrin love for gatherings, boasting panoramic views of the Adriatic and open archways that lead onto the villa’s very own courtyard and private gardens, perfect for entertaining. Those in search of ultimate privacy will find it at the blissfully secluded Villa Rumija. A two-storey coastal hideaway within the resort, the residence includes three en-suite bedrooms which open onto landscaped roof decks, each its own private haven of indulgence and relaxation.
All these 3 villas, among the 10 available for ownership at the resort, have been aptly named after the trio of black mountains that rise from the Adriatic basin and hold great historical significance in the region by One&Only.

Sabia by Giorgio Locatelli
Serving Southern Italian cuisine with a focus on fresh, locally sourced seafood and vegetables, Sabia, the resort’s signature restaurant is helmed by renowned Michelin-starred chef Giorgio Locatelli. Sabia offers indoor and outdoor dining, with mesmerising views of the Adriatic coastline and mountains.
Tapasake Club
At Tapasake Club, the resort’s stylish social heart, the vibe will transition throughout the day from ‘chilled poolside’ in the sun, to a more vibrant location to enjoy sundowners in the late afternoon. Contemporary Japanese cuisine complements masterfully mixed cocktails, all whilst the resident DJ plays sounds to suit the effortlessly chic ambiance.
La Veranda
La Veranda serves buffet and also has à la carte menu, influenced by Montenegrin cuisine and home cooking styles. La Veranda’s pastry and bakery station include freshly baked croissants, warm waffles, pancakes, gluten-free options and a unique ‘doughnut of the day’.
Camenetti
From modern Asian tapas dishes to French pastries, Afternoon Tea, and a trolley of personalised cocktails, Caminetti showcases the region’s ingredients with creative and contemporary styling. Caminetti offers a pre-dinner caviar menu serving an exceptional choice of Ars Italica, Sevruga, and Oscietra caviars.
Wellness
One&Only Portonovi has an exclusive global partnership with leading health and wellness expert brand Chenot and this will see the resort introduce Chenot Escape, a 4,000 metre² space offering guests an intensive and transformative journey of detoxing and resetting the body based on the renowned Chenot Method.
The initial stage of consultation and wellness screening by a Chenot-trained specialist, will provide insight into exactly what is aging the body. Guests will be offered bespoke programmes to positively improve performance and appearance at a cellular and emotional level, through tailored nutritional menus, fitness schedules, targeted spa treatments, stress relieving activities, and cosmetic beautification if desired. The new wellbeing experience at One&Only will offer a true 360° approach to wellbeing, with scientifically proven methods at its core.
The Espace Chenot Health and Wellness Spa at One&Only Portonovi includes 27 single treatment rooms plus one double treatment room. Hydrotherapy and Cryotherapy treatment facilities will also be available, with two relaxation areas, steam room, sauna and an indoor pool.
For guests taking part in longer length programmes, some rooms and suites are directly positioned direct above the treatment rooms, offering easy access and total privacy.
Facilities
One&Only Portonovi features ‘11’ swimming pools that include one serene and relaxing family pool, three temperate pools of varying water types and temperatures, a 25-metre indoor spa swimming pool, the dynamic Tapasake Club pool, and five private pools across Villa One, Villa Two and different resort clusters.
The Fitness Centre offers offer a professional, multi-dimensional training experience, in an environment designed to be inspirational, dynamic, technologically-advanced and elegant. There’s a Children’s Corner named ‘One&Only Club & Tribe’.
Guests can go diving with certified diving instructors through the ancient tunnel and cave structures in the Kumbor Strait and Klinci Cave, which were previously used for concealing submarines and ships in the former Republic of Yugoslavia.
There are two floodlit courts and a number of fitness facilities. The resort also has a number of running routes that take in the surrounding landscape, with scheduled guided sessions every week.
