SpiceJet announces flights from Hyderabad to Guwahati and Visakhapatnam

SpiceJet has announced nonstop flights between Hyderabad, also known as the city of pearls, and Guwahati & also Visakhapatnam. The announced comes after the low-cost carrier recently launched flights between Hyderabad and Kochi, a business heavy route it was absent on.

SpiceJet has launched 4-weekly nonstop flights between Guwahati’s Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport and Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. The flight schedule for this new route is:

  • Guwahati-Hyderabad
  • Departure time: 11:00
  • Arrival time: 13:45
  • Flight time: 2 hours and 45 minutes
  • Flight number: SG341
  • Frequency: Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays
  • Hyderabad-Guwahati
  • Departure time: 18:15
  • Arrival time: 20:45
  • Flight time: 2 hours and 30 minutes
  • Flight number: SG342
  • Frequency: Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays

Flight SG341 continues onward to Kochi. This is the same route that the airline recently started service on, meaning that Flight SG341 will operate as Kolkata-Guwahati-Hyderabad-Kochi. Similarly, Flight SG342 will operate as Kochi-Hyderabad-Guwahati-Kolkata.

Meanwhile, starting 15th July 2021, the Indian low-cost carrier will offer daily flights between Visakhapatnam International Airport and Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. The flights will be operated with the following schedule:

  • Visakhapatnam-Hyderabad
  • Departure time: 14:00
  • Arrival time: 15:30
  • Flight time: 1 hour and 30 minutes
  • Flight number: SG3832
  • Frequency: Daily
  • Hyderabad-Visakhapatnam
  • Departure time: 16:05
  • Arrival time: 17:20
  • Flight time: 1 hour and 15 minutes
  • Flight number: SG3834
  • Frequency: Daily

As of 1st August 2021, SpiceJet will operate a second daily flight between Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam. The schedule for this flight is:

  • Hyderabad-Visakhapatnam
  • Departure time: 06:45
  • Arrival time: 08:30
  • Flight time: 1 hour and 45 minutes
  • Flight number: SG3239
  • Frequency: Daily
  • Visakhapatnam-Hyderabad
  • Departure time: 08:55
  • Arrival time: 10:40
  • Flight time: 1 hour and 45 minutes
  • Flight number: SG3240
  • Frequency: Daily

For the Visakhapatnam route, SpiceJet will compete with Indigo and Air Asia India. While Indigo offers up to 6 daily flights between the two cities, Air Asia India offers 2 daily flights. For the Guwahati flight, the airline will compete with Indigo which operates a daily flight.

SpiceJet will deploy a Boeing B737 on the Guwahati route while it will deploy a Bombardier Dash-8 on Visakhapatnam flights.

The airline states that it will offer ‘convenient’ connections from Guwahati to Jharsuguda, Tirupati and Visakhapatnam with minimum layover times.
