Hyatt Hotels and Resorts has today announced the opening of Hyatt House Columbus/OSU-Short North.
The extended-stay hotel is ideally located just across from the R&D giant Battelle and adjacent to Columbus’ vibrant Short North Arts District, Victorian Village and The Ohio State University. With its 633 W. 5th Avenue address, the new Hyatt House hotel is a one mile walk to Ohio Stadium and offers proximity to the rest of the OSU campus, the James Cancer Hospital and Wexner Medical Center.
The 152-room property features 104 suites and 48 den guestrooms with rates starting at $129 per night. This new property boasts fresh, contemporary décor and was carefully designed to meet today’s travelers’ needs. With special attention paid to lifestyle conveniences, each room is pet-friendly and guest suites come with a fully equipped kitchen, abundant amenities and separate spaces to eat, sleep and relax.
Featuring an inviting outdoor patio, the full-service H Bar offers libations including local craft distilled spirits and beers. Outdoor grills, a fire pit and a bocce ball court add to the long list of Hyatt House OSU-Short North amenities.

An indoor pool and a fully loaded fitness center equipped with Columbus-made Rogue Fitness equipment and a Peloton Bike are present at the hotel. For a private workout experience, special Peloton Bike guestrooms are also available. And with the Olentangy Trail situated just outside the hotel’s doors, bike rentals are available so guests can enjoy all or part of the scenic 13-mile riverside ride from downtown Columbus to suburban Powell, Ohio. Another 25 miles of trails offer guests even more outdoor spaces to run or ride.
2,000 square feet feet of flexible meeting space and well-designed indoor and outdoor breakout options, offer a much-needed meeting and event venue in the OSU-Short North neighborhood.
Rosemont, Ill.-based First Hospitality was selected to manage Hyatt House OSU-Short North, marking First Hospitality’s sixth hotel in the Columbus area.
