ITC Hotels today announced the opening of WelcomHotel Katra, the brand’s second hotel in Jammu and Kashmir.
WelcomHotel Katra is located 45 kilometres away from the Jammu airport. Katra is situated in the foothills of Trikuta mountains in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. It is a popular destination in the religious tourism circuit of India due to its close proximity to the holy shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi.
Additionally, Katra also has one of the best rafting stretches in the world with its 15 kilometre-long stretch bordered by lush green surroundings. The hotel serves as an ideal base camp for travellers looking to explore Patnitop hill station.
WelcomHotel Katra consists of 83 well-equipped guest rooms and suites.

Dining options at the hotel include The WelcomCafe which serves gourmet flavours in international and regional vegetarian cuisine. The traditional WelcomSthalika brings the best of this region’s vegetarian cuisine on a platter. In each space, the ingredients are locally-sourced from the region’s farming community, ensuring the produce remains fresh and seasonal. The WelcomSthalika, prepared in a sattvikstyle, represents Jammu’s cuisine with dishes such as Jammu rajma, ambal, shingare ki kadhi, mewe ka kofta andtumba ajwain aloo finding a spot on the menu. Ingredients such as the Jammu rajma, walnuts, almonds, badi masala, tumba ajwain, shahi jeera and more, underline each dish.
Guests can unwind with a holistic Ayurveda experience or therapy at the soon-to-open Kaya Kalp Spa. The hotel also offers outdoor and indoor space for hosting events, weddings, and celebrations with a seamless banquet space of 255 square meters.
