Indigo to start 38 domestic flights in September

Indian low-cost carrier Indigo has announced that it will start 38 new domestic flights in September to ‘improve accessibility between metros and tier-2 or tier-3 cities’.

These 38 new flights will include 24 6E only connecting flights, 2 new flights and 12 flights that the airline will be relaunching after the COVID-19 second wave in India.

The airline will launch flights between Raipur and Pune on 16th September 2021. The airline will be resuming flights between Lucknow and Ranchi, Bengaluru and Visakhapatnam, Chennai and Indore, Lucknow and Raipur, Mumbai and Guwahati & Ahmedabad and Indore.

It will also operate flights between Ahmedabad and Agartala (via Kolkata), Chennai and Chandigarh (via Hyderabad), Chennai and Vadodara (via Hyderabad), Kolkata and Kozhikode (via Bengaluru), Kolkata and Coimbatore (via Hyderabad), Chandigarh and Patna (via Lucknow), Chandigarh and Ranchi (via Lucknow), Chandigarh and Hyderabad (via Delhi), Coimbatore and Lucknow (via Hyderabad), Coimbatore and Udaipur (via Bengaluru), Delhi and Silchar (via Kolkata) & Hyderabad and Dibrugarh (via Kolkata).

Sanjay Kumar, Chief Strategy and Revenue Officer, Indigo, said:

Indigo states that these flights will cater to business and leisure travellers who are constantly on the lookout for new and affordable flying options. The introduction of these flights will further bolster the airline’s domestic connectivity.

Meanwhile, Indigo recently launched flights from Darbhanga, Bihar. The airline will operate daily flights to Hyderabad and Kolkata from the city. Indigo has launched flights on a brand-new route connecting Hyderabad and Srinagar. The airline has also announced a new route between Lucknow and Doha and is offering 10% discount to vaccinated passengers. The carrier will also be resuming flights to Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh after a brief absence and launch flights from two new cities to the Maldives. Indigo is the first airline in India to trial the IATA Travel Pass. A few days ago, the airline launched a payable Priority Boarding facility. Indigo has also started flights to Bareilly under the Indian government’s Regional Connectivity Scheme with flights to Mumbai and Bengaluru. The carrier has added a second daily flight between Mumbai and Rajkot in response to strong demand. Indigo recently announced 8 new flights and has also launched flights from Gwalior.
