Malaysia Airlines has announced that it will begin flying to Tokyo Haneda Airport this August.

Starting 14th August 2022, Malaysia Airlines will operate 2-flights-a-week between Kuala Lumpur International Airport and Tokyo Haneda Airport. The flights will run with the following schedule:
- Kuala Lumpur-Tokyo Haneda
- Departure time: 14:45
- Arrival time: 22:35
- Flight time: 6 hours and 50 minutes
- Flight number: MH36
- Frequency: Wednesdays and Sundays
- Tokyo Haneda-Kuala Lumpur
- Departure time: 00:25
- Arrival time: 06:15
- Flight time: 6 hours and 50 minutes
- Flight number: MH37
- Frequency: Mondays and Thursdays
- Note: This flight starts on 15th August 2022
The twice-weekly service will be operated by A330-300 aircraft featuring 27 Business Class seats, 16 extra-legroom Economy Class seats and 247 standard Economy Class seats.

He added:
This expansion will allow us to tap into new opportunities by operating to Asia’s third-busiest airport and the fourth-busiest airport in the world, stimulating inbound traffic to benefit Malaysian tourism and build stronger multiplier effect across the value chain of the industry.
The flights to Tokyo Haneda will complement the airline’s existing flights to Tokyo Narita.
Kuala Lumpur-Tokyo Haneda is the carrier’s fourth route to Japan after Kuala Lumpur – Osaka, Kuala Lumpur – Tokyo Narita, and Kota Kinabalu – Tokyo Narita.
