Bangkok Airways to launch two new routes; announces flight resumptions and frequency increases

Bangkok Airways has announced that it will launch two new routes along with resuming flights on many routes and increasing frequencies on many routes. The announcement comes as the demand for flights continue to increase.

Two new routes

Starting 16th July 2022, Bangkok Airways will launch 2 new routes from Hat Yai Airport – one to Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport and another to Samui Airport. Flights between Bangkok and Hat Yai will operate twice-daily using Airbus A319 aircraft while flights bwgeeen Samui and Hat Yai will operate 3-times-a-week using ATR72-600 aircraft.

  • Bangkok-Hat Yai

  • Arrival time: 09:55
  • Flight time: 1 hour and 30 minutes

  • Hat Yai-Bangkok
  • Departure time: 10:45

  • Frequency: Daily

Flight schedule of Bangkok-Hat Yai-Bangkok route (2nd flight of the day) is:

  • Bangkok-Hat Yai
  • Departure time: 13:00
  • Arrival time: 14:30
  • Flight time: 1 hour and 30 minutes

  • Frequency: Daily
  • Hat Yai-Bangkok
  • Departure time: 15:20
  • Arrival time: 16:50
  • Flight time: 1 hour and 30 minutes

Flight resumptions

Bangkok Airways will resume flights on the following routes:

  • Samui-Chiang Mai – daily flight starting 1st July 2022
  • Bangkok-Maldives – 4-flights-a-week (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays) starting 22nd July 2022
  • Bangkok-Siem Reap – daily flight starting 1st August 2022
  • Bangkok-Danang – daily flight starting 1st September 2022
  • Samui-Hong Kong – 4-flights-a-day (Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays) starting 1st September 2022

Frequency increases

The Bangkok-based airline will increase frequency on the following routes:

  • Samui-Singapore route will increase from 3-flights-a-week to 1 flight daily starting from 1st July 2022. Then, starting 1st September 2022, the flights on route will increase to twice-daily
  • Starting 16th July 2022, Bangkok-Samui route will increase from 98-flights-a-week to 101-flights-a-week starting, and Bangkok-Samui (one-way) route will increase from 98-flights-a-week to 105-flights-a-week starting from 1st September 2022
  • Starting 1st August 2022, Bangkok-Phuket route will increase from 3-flights-a-day to 4-flights-a-day
  • Starting 1st August 2022, Bangkok-Sukhothai route will increase from 1-flight-a-day to 2-flights-a-day
  • Starting 1st August 2022, Bangkok-Lampang route will increase from 2-flights-a-day to 3-flights-a-day
  • Starting 1st August 2022, Bangkok-Phnom Penh route will increase from 3-flights-a-day to 4-flights-a-day
  • Starting 1st September 2022, Bangkok-Krabi route will increase from 1-flight-a-day to 2-flights-a-day
  • Starting 1st September 2022, Samui-Phuket route will increase from 2-flights-a-day to 3-flights-a-day
