Emirates has announced that it is boosting frequency of flights to Brazil and Argentina. This comes on the back of growing demand for travel on the route.
Additional frequency
Emirates has announced an additional frequency on its Dubai-Rio de Janeiro-Buenos Aires route. Starting 7th December 2024, the airline will operate an additional weekly frequency on Saturdays with the following timings:
- Dubai-Rio de Janeiro
- Departure time: 08:05
- Arrival time: 15:55
- Flight time: 14 hours and 50 minutes
- Flight number: EK247
- Rio de Janeiro-Buenos Aires
- Departure time: 17:30
- Arrival time: 20:55
- Flight time: 3 hours and 25 minutes
- Flight number: EK247
- Buenos Aires-Rio de Janeiro
- Departure time: 22:30
- Arrival time: 01:15 (the next day)
- Flight time: 2 hours and 45 minutes
- Flight number: EK248
- Rio de Janeiro-Dubai
- Departure time: 02:55 (the next day)
- Arrival time: 00:30 (+2 days)
- Flight time: 14 hours and 35 minutes
- Flight number: EK248
These flights will be operated by Emiratesโ 2 class Boeing B777s having a total of 302 seats spread across Business and Economy Class.
The airlineโs boosted services to Brazil and Argentina are expected to facilitate additional connectivity for passengers travelling between these countries and other popular destinations in Emiratesโ network including the UAE, Japan, Thailand, Maldives, Egypt, mainland China and Hong Kong, Turkey, South Korea, India, Australia and Indonesia. With Brazil and Argentina being home to the two largest Lebanese communities in Latin America, the airline regularly serves passengers travelling to and from Beirut.
Top inbound markets for tourism into Brazil and Argentina include mainland China, Hong Kong, China, Chinese Taipei, Japan, Australia, Russia, and the United Arab Emirates.
Trade between Argentina, Brazil and the rest of the world is also expected to be further facilitated with the additional flight per week. Each Boeing 777 wide-body aircraft accommodate a cargo capacity of around 20 tons per flight to transport regional exports from Argentina and Brazil to consumers in the Middle East, Europe and other markets, while supporting the import of essential goods, including pharmaceuticals.
Emiratesโ codeshare partnerships with GOL Airlines and Azul Airlines and interline partnerships with LATAM Airlines and Aerolineas Argentinas allow its passengers to fly beyond Rio de Janeiro, to an expansive network of domestic points Brasilia, Porto Alegre, Salvador, Curitiba, Recife, as well as regional cities Santiago and Panama City. Skywards members have the opportunity to earn and redeem Skywards Miles on codeshare flights in Brazil and South America.
