In June 2022, we stayed at the then newly-opened Hilton Garden Inn Phuket Bang Tao. Frankly speaking, I did not study the hotel in detail before booking, which is unusual for me since I like to dive deeper before making any reservations. Since that wasn’t the case this time, we arrived with no real expectations. However, the property is excellent, especially for the price we paid. Hilton Garden Inn Phuket Bang Tao – Booking
At the time of booking, sometime in May 2022, the hotel was offering some great deals. Instead of booking through an Online Travel Agent (OTA) or through a local travel agent, I thought of booking our stay through the hotel directly. I emailed the reservation team, got the rates and confirmed the booking with them directly. We booked a Twin Guest Room for THB1,800 (INR4,750 or $55 approximately).
Rates during June and July are generally lower as these months are considered to be low-demand months for Thailand. During these months, the hotel offers some pretty good deals so if you are on a budget and looking to stay at this hotel, going there during these months can save you some money.
Hilton Garden Inn Phuket Bang Tao – Location and Check-in
As the name suggests, the hotel is located in the Bang Tao area. Phuket International Airport (HKT) is approximately 20 kilometers away from the property while the Bang Tao Beach is located minutes away from the hotel. The Laguna Phuket – an integrated destination spread across 1000 acres – is located 300 metres away.

Once we arrived at the hotel, we were welcomed by the hotel staff who took care of our luggage and escorted us to the hotel lobby. The hotel has a tiny drop-off area in front of the lobby. The lobby’s doors are mostly kept opened, giving the area a nice open-air feel. There are two check-in/out desks in the lobby.

The lobby has bright colours with light-coloured wood, giving it a very good vibe. Complimentary bicycles were also available for guests to use.

Hilton Garden Inn Phuket Bang Tao – Twin Guest Room
We were assigned room no. 719, a Twin Guest Room. These rooms are spread across 23 square meters. Upon entering, the bathroom was on the left while the closet on the right. The bathroom featured a single sink, WC and shower area. Crabtree & Evelyn bath amenities were provided.

The amenities provided were excellent, considering it’s a 4-star hotel. These include a hair dryer, safe/locker, ironing board and an umbrella. All of these were kept in the open closet.

Beside the closet, tea/coffee making facility was available.

The beds were plush and comfortable. Opposite the beds, there was a 43-inch television and a work desk with a chair.

Beside the bed, there was a chaise lounge. The view from the room of the surrounding mountains was beautiful.

The room was very good in my opinion. From the layout to the finishes, everything was good.

Hilton Garden Inn Phuket Bang Tao – Restaurants & Bars
The hotel has an all-day dining restaurant and a pool bar. The Garden Grille and Bar is located just off the lobby and features both indoor and outdoor seating areas. The restaurant is open daily from 0630 to 2200 hours and breakfast was served here everyday.

Since we visited during the pandemic, the occupancy was low and hence they had kept a small buffet in addition to some hot items available on order. The buffet consisted of cereals, some cold cuts, fruits, juices and bakery items.

I got some pancakes too to go along with other items.

We didn’t have lunch or dinner at the hotel. There’s also a small pool bar with views of Laguna Phuket and lush greenery surrounding the hotel. It serves cocktails and other drinks along with light bites and is open from 0700 to 2200 hours daily.

Facilities
The hotel features two pools – one being 35 metres long while the other is 21 metres along. The latter features a child-friendly shallow area. Plenty of sun loungers are present surrounding the pools.

There’s also a fitness centre which I didn’t take a look at since it was a short stay.
Hilton Garden Inn Phuket Bang Tao – Service
Since this was our first visit to Thailand, we had high expectations of the famed Thai hospitality from each hotel we stayed at. This property certainly delivered that. All of the hotel staff we interacted with had a smile on their face and were friendly. It was visible that they enjoyed their work.
The hotel’s general manager personally greeted us in the lobby and welcomed us. The service throughout was very good.
