American Airlines has announced that it will fly nonstop between New York JFK and Tokyo Haneda, becoming the only U.S. carrier to do so.
JFK-HND nonstop!
Starting 28th June 2024, American Airlines will operate a daily flight between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Tokyo Haneda Airport with the following schedule:
- New York JFK-Tokyo Haneda
- Departure time: 11:25
- Arrival time: 14:30 (the next day)
- Flight time: 14 hours and 05 minutes
- Flight number: not known yet (tickets go on sale on 26th February 2024)
- Tokyo Haneda-New York JFK
- Departure time: 16:30
- Arrival time: 16:35
- Flight time: 13 hours and 05 minutes
- Flight number: not known yet (tickets go on sale on 26th February 2024)
These flights will be operated by American’s Boeing B777-200 aircraft.

This new route was formally approved by the United States Department of Transportation (DOT). American Airlines, along with its joint business partner Japan Airlines, will operate up to three daily flights between New York JFK and Tokyo Haneda.
The new service from New York JFK will be American’s fourth daily nonstop flight to Tokyo Haneda, joining existing daily service from Dallas-Fort Worth and two daily flights from Los Angeles.
The joint business partnership between American and Japan Airlines will offer travellers up to 17 daily flights between the continental United States and Japan next summer, including 10 daily flights to Tokyo Haneda.
