Malaysia Airlines has announced that it will soon increase flights to Amritsar to daily. This comes after the airline doubled frequency on Amritsar route in January 2024 from two to four-weekly after launching it in November 2023.
Starting 1st August 2024, Malaysia Airlines will operate daily service between Kuala Lumpur and Amritsar instead of the current 4-weekly service. The increase of frequencies from Amritsar will bring the airline’s tally of weekly flights in India to 71. Launched in November 2023, Amritsar is one of three new India routes introduced in 2023 alongside Ahmedabad and Trivandrum. The airline had also recently increased frequencies on the Trivandrum route to four times weekly.

The flag carrier of Malaysia has increased frequency of flights on Amritsar route due to robust travel demand and positive load factor. Flights to Amritsar are operated using Boeing B737-800 aircraft. Malaysia Airlines now serves nine Indian cities namely New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Ahmedabad, Amritsar and Trivandrum.
