IndiGo cancels flights
IndiGo has cancelled hundreds of flights scheduled for today (19th July 2024) as the Microsoft outage continues to affect its operations. You can find the full list of cancelled flights here on IndiGo’s website (the list is continuously being updated by IndiGo).
If you are booked on an IndiGo flight today, do see the list to check whether your flight is cancelled. IndiGo says that the option to “rebook/claim a refund is temporarily unavailable”, meaning passengers won’t be able to rebook on another IndiGo flight or claim a refund for the existing cancelled flight just yet.

Microsoft outage affects airlines worldwide
Earlier today, Microsoft faced an outage because of which many businesses were affected. Worldwide, airlines and airport operators instantly issued advisories regarding the outage and steps passengers needed to take.
Indian airlines like IndiGo, Vistara, Air India, Akasa Air and SpiceJet were affected by this outage and issued advisories. Akasa Air said that some of its “online services, including booking, check-in and manage booking services will be temporarily unavailable”, leading them to manually check-in passengers and issuing hand-written boarding passes.
Aircraft were held at the gate as passengers were not issued boarding passes in time for the flight, leading to chaos at airports. U.S. airlines even asked U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to issue a ground-stop.
Normalcy returning
The systems are coming back live, some airlines report. However, it will take time to recover all the systems and return to normal operations. If you are flying anywhere in the world today, do check your flight status to know whether it has been affected by this outage.
