Singapore Airlines expands in Brisbane with 4th daily flight

Singapore Airlines has announced an expansion in Brisbane, Australia with a 4th daily flight commencing in June 2025.

Singapore Airlines’ Brisbane expansion

Singapore Airlines currently operates 25-flights-a-week between Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) and Brisbane Airport (BNE). The airline has now announced that it will operate three-additional-flights-a-week, thus operating 4-flights-a-day (28-flights-a-week). This will bring the capacity to pre-pandemic level for the first time in five years.

Flights SQ265/266 currently operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays by Airbus A350. Starting 16th June 2025, these flights will also operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, making it a daily service.

All the four daily flights to Brisbane are operated by the airline’s Airbus A350 aircraft.

Travel demand has been strong as Brisbane continues to grow as a major gateway and Queensland gains significance as a global destination for business and leisure.

Singapore Airlines is pleased to offer more options for travellers to Singapore and connect to over 110 cities globally via Singapore Changi Airport.

Brisbane airport has also shared the top 10 source markets on Singapore Airlines to Brisbane in 2024:

  • 7. Germany
  • 8. Philippines
  • 9. Thailand
  • 10. Nepal

This is a milestone announcement delivering four services per day, every day, marking the end of a long five-year recovery on this critical route for Queensland. The Singapore to Brisbane connection is our second busiest international route, bringing a constant flow of tourists from across Asia and Europe to Queensland. Last year, more than half of all visitors from India to Brisbane travelled via Singapore Airlines.

Gert-Jan de Graaff, Chief Executive Officer, Brisbane Airport said.

The airport authorities add that this particular flight service offers the fastest onward connections to London, Zurich, and Rome, along with improved connectivity to destinations such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Johannesburg.

It comes as Brisbane Airport recorded its busiest month in the International Terminal on record, with 631,510 passengers travelling through the terminal in December 2024. The previous highest month was January 2020 with 620,164 passengers. December’s international travel numbers were up 17.7% on the previous year.
