Hyatt has announced that its debut property in AlUla, Saudi Arabia will open this year. The company has signed an agreement with the Royal Commission of AlUla (RCU) to open Hyatt Place AlUla.

Hyatt Place AlUla will be located 25 kilometers northwest of AlUla International Airport and will be in close proximity to key attractions such as Hegra, Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site, and AlUla Old Town. The region also features other historical landmarks such as Jabal Ikmah, known for its ancient rock inscriptions, and the cultural oasis with its outdoor dining and art galleries.

With its blend of historical significance and natural landscapes, AlUla has been identified as a focal point for tourism development in Saudi Arabia and the RCU has a vision of establishing AlUla as a “global destination for cultural and natural heritage”.

The hotel will feature 215 guest rooms and suites and is scheduled to open by the end of this year. It will be the second property under the Hyatt Place brand in Saudi Arabia after Hyatt Place Riyadh Al Sulaimania.

We look forward to adding Hyatt Place AlUla to our growing portfolio of properties in the region. This significant project underscores our commitment to expanding our brand presence in key leisure and business markets. We are thrilled that this upcoming hotel will provide more choice to our World of Hyatt members looking to explore the culture and beauty of AlUla.

Collaborations with established and knowledgeable operators such as Hyatt support the regeneration of AlUla County and honour its legacy as a hospitable meeting place for people from diverse cultures.

Abeer AlAkel, CEO, RCU said.

Hyatt says that the signing of Hyatt Place AlUla represents a step in its strategy to “grow its portfolio in the Middle East”.
