JetBlue’s first Airbus A220 is set to be delivered next month. The carrier has 70 of the -300 variant on order. JetBlue plans to take delivery of seven planes in 2021 and eight in 2022. The remaining aircrafts will be delivered in the coming years.

Speaking to Routesonline, COO Joanna Geraghty said,“Our A220s will naturally have a heavy presence in Boston as it’s one of our biggest E190 footprints today. But the aircraft can do a lot more than the E190 can, which is part of the reasons why we ordered it. We will be able to fly longer stages with a higher utilisation. So you can expect to see us go further within the continent and touch more places.”.

The airline’s A220s will feature a new tail livery known as “Hops”(pictured above).

What to expect from a JetBlue A220?

The airline has gone for 140 seats in the plane, likely with a 3-2 configuration. According to Paxex.aero, there are 5 ‘Even more space’ rows on the plane, 3 in the front and two emergency exit rows.

All in all, it will be interesting to see how JetBlue’s designs the aircraft’s interior. If you don’t want to miss how JetBlue designs the A220 interior, be sure to subscribe to my newsletter below and receive articles directly into your inbox .
