KLM will launch a premium economy product but not until 2022.

The news comes after KLM’s CEO Pieter Elbers revealed in an interview to Luchtvaartnieuws.

“Our partners Air France, Delta and Virgin Atlantic already offer this. If KLM does not do that, then you have product differences that you would rather not want for the customer.”, said Elbers.

KLM has a ‘Economy Comfort’ product which basically is a economy product with more legroom. KLM is selling this product at a lower price than the competitor’s Premium economy class.

The plan for the Amsterdam based airline is to begin conversion of first Boeing B787 Dreamliner and B777-300ER in early 2022.
